AnimeAnime released their survey for “Most Anticipated Winter 2019 Anime”. Check out the results.
The Promised Neverland
Number one with 17% approval rating. An original fantasy work that is currently serialising in Weekly Shonen Jump. Reader comments include “I love the original work. I want to watch Emma in motion and the scenes where they solve mysteries” to “The manga is interesting and I’m hooked by it!” The original work was awarded best work in “63rd Shogakukan Manga Award” for Boys category and is critically acclaimed. It has a high degree of popularity among the serialised works on Jump.
The Quintessential Quintuplets
Number two with 10% approval rating. An anime adaptation of the romance comedy work that is being serialised in Weekly Shonen Magazine. Readers commented, “I’m looking toward to seeing the five female characters expressing their cuteness” to “There are a lot of voice actors I like in the anime.” The cast consists of Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Kana Hanazawa, Ayana Taketatsu, Miku Ito, Ayane Sakura and Inori Minase.
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War
Number three with 9% approval rating. An original work currently serialising in “Weekly Young Jump”. Comments from readers include “I’m looking forward to how the anime will realise its unique atmosphere” and “There have been a lot anime adaptations of Young Jump works recently.” This is a romance comedy on how to make the other half confess.
From the ranking, manga works dominate the top three positions. This is followed by original works from director Tatsuki’s “Kemurikusa” at #4, and director Goro Taniguchi’s Revisons at #5.

The survey titled “What is Your Most Anticipated Winter 2019 Anime?” was carried out on 198 people (53% male and 47% female), of which 42% are under the age of 19 and 27% in the 20s.
