Kaneki and the ghouls escape Rushima, with help from former CCG Hirako Take and his Squad 0, and they gather at a hideout. Even though the ghouls and Squad 0 are of different stances, for the purpose of their beliefs they join forces to form the anti-human organization “Goat”, and install Kaneki as their leader. He comes to be known as the “One-Eyed King”.
