The year is 2205. The "historical revisionists" have begun attacks on the past in their plot to change history. The Saniwa, who have been charged with protecting history, can imbue life into objects. Strongest among these are the Touken Danshi. The story revolves around their cheerful lives.
The uchigatana that is said to have been used by Shinsengumi's Okita Souji. Perhaps because he was born in an impoverish environment, he believes that as long as he keeps himself pretty, he will be loved by his owner. Seemingly the polar opposite of Yamatonokami Yasusada with who he quarrels all the time, they are actually really good friends.

An uchigatana crafted by Kunishige Hasebe. His name originated from the time when Nobunaga executed his tea servant along with the storage cupboard which he hid under. He is extremely loyal to his master, and never speaks of his desires. He would also carry out dirty jobs without batting an eyelid.
A tachi crafted by Munechika Sanjo, a swordsmith from the Heian period.
He is said to be the most beautiful blade out of the five great swords of Japan. His appearance is also as elegant as a Heian aristocrat would be. To put it nicely, he is a big-hearted man, but in truth, he is just extremely laid-back.
